UNESCO project

SHENZHEN Symphony Orchestra agreed to a concert project with UNESCO at the cultural fair Saturday. The concert will be held at Shenzhen Concert Hall on Dec. 7 and will be an important platform for UNESCO to promote cultural exchanges between different regions. Musicians from more than 20 countries will be invited to perform, accompanied by the Shenzhen orchestra.

Pingshan bases

AN international cultural tourism town with total investment of 5.1 billion yuan (US$806.8 million) reached agreement Friday to open in Pingshan New Area. The cultural industrial output value of the town, which will become an animation industrial base, animation education base and cultural tourism park, is expected to reach 5.3 billion yuan per year, according to the local government.

OCT makes deals

THE Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Group signed contracts with several cultural companies and academic institutes Saturday at the cultural fair, making deals of more than 1.2 billion yuan. The projects are mainly in entertainment and performance, cultural technology, creative management and wetland scientific research, fair organizers said.

Financing handbook

A FINANCING handbook for this year’s cultural projects was released at the fair Friday. The handbook introduced more than 3,000 projects across the country in areas such as creative design, performance, cultural industrial bases, animation and drama production. Fifty-six projects from Yunnan, Liaoning, Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong provinces signed contracts at the fair.
