LOCAL traffic police have set up phone numbers that foreign visitors to Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Shenzhen, China, the main venue of the 9th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), can call to inquire about any problems or questions they have during the weekend event.

People who need help during the Friday-through-Monday fair can call 8445-1458 or 8316-2933 to reach the traffic police command center.

Police aren’t imposing restrictions on roads around the exhibition center for this year’s ICIF, but vehicles are advised to use left-hand lanes on the road around the center to give more room to vehicles entering and exiting the center. Vehicles illegally parked in the area will be towed.

Police plan to have 1,500 officers on duty at the main venue and 44 ICIF subvenues across the city Friday, the event’s first day. Only vehicles with certificates issued by police will be allowed to enter and park in the exhibition center area.

Metro riders can take the Luobao or Longhua lines and get off at Convention and Exhibition Center Station, use exits E or D and walk about 150 meters to the center’s north entrance. Metro riders also can get off at Shopping Park Station on Luobao Line and use Exit D to reach the center’s west entrance.

Bus transportation also is convenient. Four stops — on Jintian, Yitian, Binhe and Fuhua roads — surround the convention and exhibition center. Bus routes include No. 15 from Meilin; No. 50 from Qingshuihe; No. 64, which travels between Buji, Longgang District, and Futian Transport Hub; No. 76, which links Meilin Checkpoint with Mawan in Nanshan District; No. 109, from Sea World in Shekou to Huanggang Checkpoint in Futian; and K113, which departs from Shekou and ends at Liantang in Luohu District. Exhibitors with valid certificates and visitors with tickets can ride for free.

Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory reminded visitors to bring umbrellas as occasional showers are expected Friday and Saturday. Overcast skies are expected Sunday.
