As an ancient country with five thousand years of history and civilization, Iran has a unique culture in its traditional craftsmanship. It is a cultural treasure in Iranian long history. Each product exudes a rich cultural atmosphere.


1. Ghalamkar

Place of origin: Isfahan

Introduction: A long time ago, the printing process was made by hand on the fabric, and later it was gradually replaced by manual template printing. Printed template frames are generally made of cherry wood or hawthorn wood. This craft was extremely prosperous in the 17th century, and is still a unique art in Iran until now.


2. Khatam

Place of origin: Shiraz, Isfahan, Gulpa Iga, Tehran.

Introduction: Iranian inlaying process has a long history, and this exquisite process combines the camel bones, metal, and wood which are finely polished into triangles, cut into thin slices, and form a unique pattern of various colors, and finally inlay these slices on the surface of the ornaments.



3. Engraving

Place of origin: Isfahan, Tabriz, Tehran.

Introduction: Engraving is one of the oldest crafts in Iran. It is made by hand, carving or beating some unique patterns on some metal materials, such as copper, gold, silver, lead, and etc. Widely used in vases, dishes, plates, candle jars, boxes, bowls, sugar bowls, photo frames and other decorations.


4. Gilim   

Place of origin: Sistan-Balochistan Province, Shiraz, Isfahan, Sana'a, Khorasan.

Introduction: Gilimis a type of felt, an ancient handicraft of Iran. Its history can be traced back to 6000 years ago. Every place has its own unique style. It is usually made from the hair of farmed animals.


5. Enamel

Place of origin: Isfahan

Introduction: Enamel is an art of beautifying utensils, widely used to decorate dishes, bowls, doors, windows, vases, photo frames, cosmetic boxes, etc. Its history can be traced back to 5000 years ago. According to the research of archaeologists, enamel art originated in Persia and spread from Persia to all parts of the world.


6. Turquoise

Place of origin: Isfahan, Mashhad

Introduction: Turquoise is one of the ancient gemstones. It has a splendid history of thousands of years and is loved by people from all over the world. In the history of ancient Persia, turquoise was regarded as a mysterious escort, and it was made into an amulet, and it also symbolized ‘trust and trust’ and was known as the lucky stone of success. The turquoise inlay process is a delicate process in which broken turquoise is inlaid on the surface of metal ornaments (including copper, silver, bronze, brass, etc.), and then polished to make it bright. This process is widely used to decorate dessert plates, sugar bowls, vases, etc.


7. Termeh

Place of origin: Isfahan, Yazd

Introduction: Termeh is a handwoven cloth of Iran. It is one of the most exquisite and chic craftsmanship in Iranian handicrafts. Just like handmade blankets, Termeh also has warp and weft threads which freely presented on the back of the fabric. The main colors of Termeh are purplish red and dark blue. Widely used in clothing, curtains, blankets, tablecloths, bags, etc.
