Briefing on the 15th ICIF

The 15th ICIF, hosted by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, National Film Administration), Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, National Radio and Television Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, was held in Shenzhen from May 16 to 20, 2019, among which the first two days are buyers’ days, and the last three days are public days. The 15th ICIF closely follows the new era and new requirements, focusing on the theme of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and implementing the Belt and Road initiative, supply-side structural reform, promoting the planning of Guangdong- Hong Kong, Macao Great Bay Area, and focusing on the achievements in the reform of China's cultural system and the development of the cultural industry. After five days of exhibition and transactions, this fair has showed the following features and highlights:

First, leading enterprises gathered to show the latest achievements in the development of China's cultural industry.
The governments of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions has organized to exhibit in ICIF for ten consecutive years. More than 100,000 cultural products at home and abroad were exhibited, and nearly 6,000 cultural industry investment and financing projects were displayed and traded on site. The fair has attracted leading enterprises in various subdivisions of cultural industry. 48 listed cultural enterprises, 68 national cultural industry parks, demonstration bases and 23 Top 30 enterprises of national cultural enterprises participated in the exhibition with the latest products and the best projects. The 11th ‘National Top 30 Cultural Enterprises’ was released during the 15th ICIF. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the fair in person and fully affirmed the positive role played by ICIF in promoting the development of China's cultural industry.
Second, the brand influence continues to expand, and the level of internationalization is further enhanced.
All provinces and municipalities regard ICIF as an important carrier for the development of regional cultural industries, an important platform for attracting investment, and a major opportunity for trading. A number of major industrial project cooperation was promoted at the fair; a multitude of major promotional exhibitions were held during the fair; a series of high-level forums and symposium were held in Shenzhen. The fair has attracted a total of 132 overseas organizations from 50 countries and regions, with an increase of 8 and 2 respectively. There were 103 countries and regions and 22,167 overseas buyers visiting, exhibiting and purchasing in the fair. The entire overseas exhibition area accounted for 23.5%, and the level of internationalization was further improved.
Third, highlighting the new type of ‘culture +’ industry and accelerating the deep integration of culture and tourism.
The 15th ICIF highlights the ‘culture + science and technology’ and digital culture contents, focus on the integration of culture and big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, 5G, 4K and other cultural and technological innovations and promotes the content, technology, mode and format innovation of digital culture industry. With the theme of ‘Flourishing culture, charming China’, the Cultural Industries Hall exhibits many new formats of ‘culture +’. Among them, the technology of cultural integration presents new achievements of cultural innovation and becomes a beautiful scenery of this fair.
Fourth, accelerating the coordinated development of cultural industries in Guangdong-Hong Kong and Macao Great Bay Area and building a new engine for regional cultural development.
For the first time, the Guangdong-Hong Kong and Macao Great Bay Area Cultural Industries Hall was set up in this fair to organize high-quality cultural enterprises and creative products from nine cities of Guangdong Provinces and Hong Kong and Macao regions to exhibit the cooperative innovation achievements of Great Bay Area’s cultural industry.
Fifth, with the unprecedented increase in citizen participation, the cultural industry has become a new expectation for the better life of citizens in the new era.
In addition to the 9 halls of the main venue, this fair has set up 66 sub-venues. During the exhibition period, nearly 600 activities have been planned, and 6 state-level authoritative conferences, forums and other supporting activities have been organized by the host ministries and authorities. More than 20 activities such as investment promotion were also held in various provinces, districts and cities, and more than 400 domestic and foreign media and more than 1800 Chinese and foreign journalists participated in the rich and colorful activities such as the exhibition, trade and promotion. We-media coverage was overwhelming and aroused widespread concern from all walks of life. By May 19, more than 7 million visitors had participated in the various special events in main venue and sub - venues, and the number of visitors in the main venue had increased by more than 10% compared with the previous one.

Sixth, the level of exhibition service has been continuously improved, and the role of leading the high-quality development of cultural industry has been significantly enhanced.

Ⅰ. Exhibition Information
1.Venue Setting
This fair has set up the main venue and sub-venues. The main venue is located in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, among which there are 1 comprehensive hall and 8 professional halls with an area of 105,000 square meters and 66 sub - venues.
2.Exhibition organizations
A total of 2,312 government organizations, enterprises and institutions participated in the fair, with an increase of four than the previous session. All 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions participated in the fair. There were 132 overseas exhibitors, 2 more than the previous session, from 50 countries and regions, with an increase of 8 than the previous one.
Ⅱ.  Visit and Purchase Information
1.Buyers
A total of 22167 overseas buyers has participated in the fair, 781 more than the previous session, mainly from 103 countries and regions such as Britain, France, the United States, Australia, Spain and Russia.
2.Visitors
The total number of visitors to the main venues, sub - venues and related activities has reached 78.063 million, with an increase of 475 million than the previous year, an increase of 6.41% compared with the previous session.
3.Media
A total of 1850 journalists from 405 domestic and foreign media has reported the fair.
4.Activities
More than 600 activities were planned during the fair, including 6 major supporting activities led by ministries and commissions, 72 activities organized by provinces, municipalities and local cultural industry institutions, 389 sub-venue activities and 154 other special activities.
